In the martial arts school I was training in, we came close to that every time we trained, and often we did exactly that - collapse after pushing to our absolute maximum. I say our to include all the students, but every year I was at that school, I saw the students who took their training to their maximum move forward and get stronger and better at the art while others who just went through the motions, well, just kept going through the same motions...
There is obviously something psychological about pushing yourself that hard, and unless you understand what you are doing, it seems like torture! But in fact - and I mean in fact as in a scientific fact - the body's muscles and joints need that kind of stimulation in order to change. The body recognized a stress on it's structure and adapts to be able to resist that stress the next time, as long as the stress in great enough to go beyond what the body is used to, or able to already do.
I have been looking for years for a way to help people reach their maximum potential. My first interest in the martial arts, and then massage therapy, meditation and nutrition all brought me very close to a way the body can be in it's best shape. I have tried all these things with myself and with friends, and family as well as clients with varying results, always feeling that there was something missing in my understanding of human health. How we can in this modern age be healthy and strong into old age? How can we be healthy and strong now.
I think I have found the missing link.http://www.simplementplusfort.com/
